Promoting Academic Ownership
Students who take ownership of their learning are more likely to be engaged and invested in their education, which leads to improved outcomes and a more meaningful, personalised learning experience.
When students are actively involved in setting their goals and reflecting on their progress, they develop critical thinking skills and become more self-directed learners. This autonomy not only enhances their academic performance but also builds resilience and a growth mindset, helping them to overcome challenges and persist in their efforts.
Workshop Overview
We all want our students to take charge of their learning journey, embracing both their academic and personal growth with enthusiasm and dedication.
In this professional development workshop, teachers will be equipped with a variety of strategies to effectively deliver the curriculum while inspiring students to take ownership of their academic and personal growth. The goal is to foster an environment where students are motivated to pursue their ambitions, set meaningful goals, and develop strong character.
Designed to be highly interactive, this professional learning session will emphasise practical tools and approaches that encourage goal setting, promote academic rigour, and instil principles of character education.
Staff will leave this workshop motivated to explore approaches to creating a classroom atmosphere that supports student autonomy and encourages risk-taking, curiosity, and a love for learning.
