Join us for a one-day professional development workshop designed to strengthen how you connect, communicate, and build trust with young people.
This interactive training deepens your understanding of Gen Z; their values, communication styles, and behaviours - and explores what this means for engagement in real-world settings such as classrooms, group programs, and community environments.
You’ll learn how to:

Why Gen Z Needs You to Communicate Differently:
Gen Z brings extraordinary strengths - creativity, social awareness, and a strong sense of values - alongside growing pressure, uncertainty, and disengagement.
Traditional communication approaches don’t always land the way they once did. What previously motivated participation can now fall flat, particularly in group settings where young people are constantly assessing whether they feel safe, seen, and genuinely understood.
This workshop responds to that shift, supporting professionals to adapt how they communicate and build relationships so young people are more likely to engage, contribute, and connect in meaningful ways.
What the Day Looks Like:
Morning: Understanding Gen Z & Youth Engagement
The morning focuses on understanding today’s young people - their values, communication preferences, and behaviours - and how broader social, digital, and cultural influences shape the way they engage. This session builds a shared language and foundation for connection.
Afternoon: Public Speaking & Group Communication
The afternoon is practical and interactive, translating insight into action. You’ll explore how to communicate with clarity, empathy, and intention in real-world youth settings, respond to disengagement, and foster environments where young people feel safe to participate and be heard.
Throughout the day, there is space to reflect, practise, and refine your approach in a supportive, discussion-based environment.
Understanding and Communicating with a Generation Often Misunderstood
Gen Z is growing up in a world of constant connection, rapid change, and unprecedented pressure - and many adults are feeling unsure how to meet them in it.
What we’re seeing:
Young people are more connected than ever, yet many report feeling deeply lonely and overwhelmed.
They place high value on wellbeing, purpose, and meaningful contribution, often more than traditional status or hierarchy.
They are digitally fluent, but frequently lack consistent mentorship, attuned communication, and spaces where they feel truly understood.
If you work with young people, you may have found yourself wondering:
Why won’t they open up, even when I’m trying to support them?
What actually motivates engagement, not just compliance?
Why do challenges seem to escalate so quickly?
How do I connect without sounding out of touch or performative?
This workshop is designed to respond to these exact questions - bridging insight with practical communication tools that support connection, confidence, and engagement.
“Training was practical, engaging and relevant. So many training programs are just difficult to implement in real life scenarios. This one was excellent.”
Mike, Confit Pathways
